The History of Exhibitions and Trade Shows in Việt Nam
When it comes to exhibitions, we’ve been working to help businesses make the most of their trade show experience for many years, so here, we’re taking a look back at the history of Viet Nam exhibitions and some key details that might surprise you.
What is Exhibition?
In Việt Nam, according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 3 of Decree No. 23/2019/ND-CP (effective from April 15, 2019) on exhibition and exhibition activities are defined as follows:
An exhibition is the organization of the exhibition of works, artifacts, and documents in a specific time and space, through various forms and technical means, with the goal of introducing, announcing and disseminating in the community and society.
The Oxford dictionary describes an exhibition as a “public display of works… at a trade fair”, where an expo is described as a “large international exhibition”. A trade show is described as an “event at which companies show their products”.
Basically, whichever word you’re using or hearing, they’re all correct and they all mean the same thing. An exhibition or trade show is all about brands gathering together in one venue to showcase their products to either the public or to trade, relatively.
Trade Shows in Vietnam
Trade exhibitions are usually organized by entrepreneurs in the business of fair and exhibition services to promote transactions or by organizations and agencies to support businesses in finding partners and signing contracts for the sale of goods.
Traders participating in trade shows often want to introduce their products and services to find partners, so the main customers are customers.
Trade shows are usually held in the form of booths for traders to display their products and services.
Trade show organizers often invite, call on traders to participate and collect booth fees from them.

What Is Business-to-Business (B2B)?
Business-to-business (B2B), also called B-to-B, is a form of transaction between businesses such as a manufacturer and wholesaler or a wholesaler and a retailer. Business-to-business refers to commerce that’s conducted between companies rather than companies and individual consumers.
Business-to-business stands in contrast to business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-government (B2G) transactions.
Understanding Business-to-Business (B2B)
Business-to-business transactions are common in a typical supply chain because companies must typically purchase components and raw materials for use in their manufacturing processes. Finished products can then be sold to individuals via business-to-consumer transactions.
In the context of communication, business-to-business refers to methods by which employees from different companies can connect through outlets such as social media. This type of communication between the employees of two or more companies is called B2B communication.
